Universpain organizes special courses for professionals and teachers of Spanish. The course aims at improving linguistic skills and training professionals, while updating teaching materials and teaching methodologies

Objetives:

• Supporting professionals in teaching Spanish as a foreign language, giving them information and aids about how organizing programmes and lessons.
• Update teaching materials and methodologies as well as updating materials related to Spanish literature and culture.
• Improving linguistic skills, grammar and vocabulary, in order to achieve an excellent level which is important to create teaching units.

The first workshop “Teaching Spanish as a foreign language” aims at analyzing the deep structure of the language, in order to work out new techniques which can be adopted to improve linguistic skills. Participants are required to analyze different kind of grammar exercises and to work out the most suitable strategies to introduce learners to the main grammar themes.

The second workshop “Spanish Literature” aims at analyzing the current situation of Spanish literature as well as understanding the importance of literature in learning a foreign language. It is also explored the importance of the literauture for children. Literature is a tool to convey culture as well as to learn grammar structures and to improve vocabulary.

The third workshop “Teaching aids” presents new and modern teaching aids. Audio-visual aids help improve oral comprehension and pronounciation. The workshop aims at updating teaching materials and methodologies with special regard to new technologies.

The fourth workshop “Grammar, vocabulary and conversation to teach Spanish” aims at going into Spanish language and improving linguistic skills. Participants learn new strategies to manage both grammar and conversation lessons. With this object in view, participants explore some controversial aspects of the Spanish language in order to work out the most suitable and effective strategy to teach them. Participants create teaching units based on the contents, the methodologies and the teaching aids which are presented throughout the course.

Universpain pursue two objectives:

• supporting the professionals who works abroad and who need new teaching methodologies with special regard to the new technologies.
• revising and improving grammar basis which is essential for the professionals who teach Spanish as a foreign language.
